| 1854 Pattern Large Cent J-161 ANACS AU-55 | |
| Description: Actually this is a medium cent and not a large cent, since it has a diameter of 25 1/2 millimeters compared to the standard large cent with a diameter of 27 1/2 millimeters. An interesting design, identical to the large cent of that same year, but lacking the thirteen stars around the perimeter of the obverse. The reverse is also similar to that of the standard large cent, only with smaller lettering and substantially less vegetation used in the wreath. This coin shows a slight bit of wear, but I do not see how it could have actually circulated without picking up any marks in the wide open obverse fields, which are virtually mark free. Possibly somebody carried it around for a short period of time in the 1850's. In any case, it is a neat, inexpensive pattern piece. This pattern is classified as Pollock-187, which encompasses both Judd 160 and 161. The only difference between the two Judd numbers is that one is made of copper and the other is bronze, but it is usually impossible to tell the difference between the two without expensive testing. | |

| 1859 Judd 241 Pattern Half Dollar NGC Proof-62 | |
| Description: The obverse Liberty head design by James B. Longacre combined with the wreath reverse by Anthony Paquette. The obverse is lightly toned in the central areas with abundant green and gold around the edges. The reverse is very lightly toned overall, turning to a darker gold right near the rim. | |
